The 3rd TallyTiES Annual Celebrity Ties Auction and Gala will take place August 22, 2013 at the Woman's Club of Tallahassee. TallyTIES will once again host a gala and auction of celebrity neck ties and other memorabilia to raise money and awareness for a local non profit, NAMI. This will be a great evening filled with music, celebrity guest appearances, complimentary drinks and heavy hors d’oeuvres. Tickets are $40.00 in advance of the event and are available now.
NAMI Tallahassee is the local affiliate of NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) serving Leon and surrounding counties. Founded in 1979, NAMI has become the nation’s leading voice on mental illness. NAMI includes over 1,200 affiliates in every state who join together to meet the NAMI mission through support, advocacy, education, and research for people with mental illness, their families and friends.
NAMI Tallahassee sponsors educational programs, a monthly support group, the 12-week Family-to-Family Education program, “‘Sharing Hope” for African American congregations, Crisis Intervention Training for law enforcement (CIT), Provider Education training, and Mental Illness Awareness Week. Through their dues and fund-raising, they help support these programs.
